NDSY practices, what Aku THeo calls as responsible raiding. I tend to call it strategy. In Last Z: Survival Shooter we have to consider both short term tactical goals and long term strategy. Short term goals are usually obvious. Long term goals and their implications are more complex. A HQ we can loot for days without having to spend diamonds on teleport (often with uncertain results) is an asset for the alliance, destroying it would be bad, even if it would be a tempting option. If smaller alliances who have to expect some looting see responsible looting and move closer to our lands it will be easier to reach them with cheaper alliance teleports or just with marches, we wouldn't need to spend advanced teleports as often. If we can keep the smaller alliances active and willing to fight for the server, get rewards in Capital Clash, as they can trust us, we will be more likely to get rewards.

We aren't named after the month when the server started, we don't want to destroy the community on the server. We don't want people targetting our trucks when they can make smaller or bigger sacrifices to help us to make progress in Alliance Duel. For this reason, please try to focus on targets with excessive amount of unprotected resources.

Basic rules for responsible looting

Looting and war with any alliance is different. In war different rules apply as our goals there are different. When looting on a different server using Enemy Buster or Capital Clash to port there, different rules apply. These rules and guidelines are for looting on 273.

  • Before scouting the target make sure, he doesn't belong to our allies, or an alliance protected by NAP if there is any on the server.
  • Farm accounts of NDSY members or our allies can be targetted only with the permission of their owner.
    • It might make sense to set up your farm account(s) for future resource needs. Looting your farm is different.
    • Your farm account might also collect loot from weaker HQs. This way you use the fuel, teleports from your farm and conserve these resources on your main HQ
  • Fuel is a precious resource. If you don't really need the loot, please consider if you would need the fuel for events, helping alliance members, etc.
  • Scout your target to get a report if they have enough resources to loot, have enough health to survive an attack from you, and what kind of hero’s/troops they have. Our guide will help you to understand the scout reports.
  • Make sure you have enough loot cap left (we will explain how to check) to enjoy the loot.
  • You have to return troops after every attack
    • You probably don't have enough capacity to bring back loot from multiple attacks, so it would be a waste of fuel.
    • Your troops can be weakened (even light injuries count) from the first attack and you might lose more.
    • If you lose more troops and carrying capacity you might return with less loot.
  • Do not destroy the HQ if attacking multiple times or using a rally
  • Fires won't destroy the target, but mistakes, other attackers can and often will. Try to leave enough durability on the target HQ to survive a mistake if you can.
  • If you send more troops against the same target, they will damage them simultaneously, so you can kill the defenders faster and suffer less losses.
  • Make a group chat or private chat if you’re inviting others! If you want a voice chat created for your looting team on Discord, feel free to ask anyone with the proper role on Discord.
  • Make sure you can survive any retaliation. Have teleports, shields ready if needed.

How to use a Scout report?

Understanding a sample scout report

The following image is from a scout report. Please consider why I have decided against attacking this player:

His 22.9K durability would be enough to survive the attack, so that wasn't the issue. But with the plunde rate of 50% and the plunderable resources listed above, my loot would be up to 1.3M zent, 312.9K food, 295.4K wood, 393.8K electricity. Usually we can fill your zents cap (unless we have the advanced raider license) before we can fill the rest. My zents cap was already full. It meant I would get barely over 600K useful resources for 10 fuel. As I haven't teleported to plunder, I looked around for HQs I can plunder around our hive, there were better options. Getting the same resources from fewer attacks not only saves fuel, but it also means we have to hit less players, more would stay.

But the same report also tells me, he had this amount of resources after losing some durability, after some attacks. So before that attack this player had provided a full truckload of resources to someone, maybe he will provide a full truckload next time or more. Letting him recover here, letting him keep some resources so he can play means he will be likely to be there next time, and if he doesn't learn how to protect his resources he will be an easy plunder target.

Lower in the report you will find information about his heroes, units and reinforcements:

With a higher level radar it would be more detailed as it would show unit tiers, but even now we can consider how strong the defenses can be, how much troops do we need. Normally you have at least a few options to consider when you want to overcome defenses. You have the option to use one troop, usually your strongest, to defeat the defenses and bring some loot back. You can attack with multiple troops at the same time, as it can make combat faster and reduce your overall losses. If you rally the enemy, that is slower, but it gets bonuses from your Rally square building. If you have farm accounts you can consider which account should be used to attack the enemy.

Things you should consider

While your Scout report might not show you any reinforcement, they can after you have started scouting. There are tips and tricks about how to do the looting runs if you want to avoid these surprises. You might also get intercepted by TvT combat from the allies of your target. The scout report should be always interpreted with the overall situation in mind, but it is a good starting point to understand what can you expect from various HQs you might face. Scouting other nearby HQs might reveal more information about the resistance you might expect. You are free to use many creative tactics to improve your chances by drawing potential reinforcements away from your target, and this can influence the amount of danger you might face.

You cans hare the scout reports in the alliance and ask for advice. That is a good way to keep the plundering run safe for you.

Carrying capacity of your troops can be filled with any resource, zents, wood, food and electricity can all fill the carrying capacity. If your troops can carry about 2 million resources and you only need food, it makes sense to attack enemey who has very little zents, wood or electricity but has close to 4 million food so you can fill your trucks to the brim with food only. So sometimes a lack of a certain resource is important.

Important things in the attack report

You get an attack report in the mail, the same way as you got your scout report before attacking. You should always look for the part about your resource gains. if the report is for a team attack you might see the individual sub battle to see the information about looting. This part of the report usually contains 2 important bits of information. While you normally don't see carrying capacity of your troops too easily, you can see how much resources you have brought home before, and you know you have the capacity for at least this many resources. It is an useful thing to remember and you can use this information when you are planning other raids. But there is an "i" info icon (circle shaped) in the header of the resource gainst display. You should click / tap that icon, and see information about Daily Loot Cap, and Zent Daily Plunder Limit, including your current limits and the amount you have already used.

Basic tips and tricks

Enemies and their alliance can see an incoming attack. If you take a long march to attack, march to a "nearby" empty tile first and only initiate the attack against the enemy HQ when your troops are already nearby. If you march 2 troops to attack but you have 3 or 4, you can initiate an attack with the 3rd or 4th troop against another nearby HQ belonging to the same alliance as a decoy tactic. It can even be a rally that you can cancel in the preparation phase without sharing it with anyone. When they see this decoy attack, they might decide to reinforce against that. If your real target is only revealed whern your troops are already very close to it, the enemy might have no chance to react. Sometimes your real target might even send out some of his troops as reinforcement to the decoy target and see how you take his resources while his troops are out because of a decoy.

Multiple attackers can kill the HQ defenses faster, giving even less time for the victim to react to your attacks. It also gives less time for the defensive units to damage or kill your units, and usually your 2nd troop can be still strong enough to carrty significant amount of loot for the fuel spent. If you have more strong troops, perhaps some on your farm account if you have one, you might want to consider using that.

A rally has bonuses from the rally square, but it is slower and gives the enemy a chance to react. You might want to do it, when you know the enemy won't have a real chance to react to your rally.
